The town

Streets, districts, the river and the landmarks are invented from the seed in the language of the country; roll a new town for another set. A production’s own places — its station, its hospital, its café — go on the map when you take them from the production file.

The look

Engraved to 1900, black and one tint to the war, the yellow-road offset map after it, brighter inks from the late 1970s, the flat vector look from 2000. Checks says when a look is out of its years.

Print

Every sheet is drawn at true size in millimetres. The visitor’s map carries two fold guides to DL; the atlas page is one leaf of a stapled booklet. Download the SVG for the finished artwork — the faces it uses travel inside it — or a 300 dpi PNG; Print opens the browser’s dialogue at the sheet’s own size.

Stock: 90–100 gsm uncoated for a folded map, 60–70 gsm for an atlas page, 120 gsm for a wall plan. Fold with the grain.
