Chronotype reads your screenplay here, on your own computer, and lists every printed thing the scenes call for: the telegram, the evening paper, the menu at the bar, the sign on the corner. Check the list, fix what it got wrong, then let the studios build the lot — dated to the year the script is set in, placed in its country, and fictional down to the brand.

The scenes

A scene starts at a heading — INT., EXT., ΕΣΩΤ., ΕΞΩΤ. or a line forced with a full stop. Names in capitals over a line of speech are the cast. Final Draft files are read by their own paragraph types.

The year and the place

A year in a super or a title card holds until the next one; a year in a scene heading holds for that scene. The country comes from the places named — London, Chicago, Θεσσαλονίκη — and Greek pages are read as Greek. Change either, for the whole script or for one scene.

The things

A word list in English and Greek says what each printed thing is and which studio makes it: a telegram, a pawn ticket, a bottle of whisky, a street sign, a town plan, a photograph, the page on a monitor. Words in quotes after it go on it. Real brand names are flagged, and a gun or a car goes to the prop buyer, not the printer.

Nothing on this page sends anything anywhere: the script is read in this tab and forgotten when you close it. The same script gives the same list every time.
